Pandit Nayan Ghosh

Profile Image

Pandit Nayan Ghosh is notable for his mastery of both sitar and tabla. Rhythmically, he draws from the Farukhabad, Delhi, Ajrada, and Lucknow gharanas, having received instruction from his esteemed father Pandit Nikhil Ghosh and Ustad Ahmed Jan Thirakwa, a legend of the instrument.

His sitar style is augmented by study of rare ragas and compositional forms, including with the late sarod star Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta. His uncle was Pandit Pannalal Ghosh, the father of classical bansuri.

"Listen to music of other evolved cultures - this empowers and widens musical perception."
